Goldman Sachs Small Business Summit
Goldman Sachs invited LUHV Food to cater their 2022 Small Business Summit, which was already an honor, and then they also chose LUHV Food to be the only caterer at the VIP Luncheon. On the drive down to D.C. on July 18th, the Luccis could barely contain their excitement– Silvia and Daniel were excited to showcase veganism at a highly esteemed event, but their daughter Julietta was mostly just excited because she heard Ryan Reynolds might be attending.
Goldman Sachs Small Business Summit is designed to celebrate small businesses and with 2,500 small businesses in attendance, it actually was the largest gathering of small businesses in the U.S. Over the course of three days, small business owners gained insights from business leaders, visionaries, policymakers and each other on best practices for business growth, hiring, accessing capital and more as they continue to power the nation’s economy and employ the majority of America’s workforce.
The list of speakers this year was out of this word: Ryan Reynolds (Producer, Screenwriter, Actor, & Entrepreneur), Gwyneth Paltrow (CEO & Founder of GOOP), Adam Grant (Wharton Organizational Psychologist & Author of Think Again), Emma Grede (Co-Founder & CEO of Good American) , George W. Bush (43rd President of the United States), Warren Buffet (Chairman & CEO of Berkshire Hathaway), and more!
Silvia said that Emma Grede was one speaker who really resonated with her. Emma was committed to her principles– she refused to let any retailers buy Good American unless they were willing to buy the whole size range. She is also a mother to four just like Silvia!
Another speaker Silvia adored was Adam Grant. Silvia had read his book Think Again and loved how he emphasizes the power in unlearning and relearning, and it makes Silvia want to be a businesswoman who is not afraid to reconstruct her beliefs.
Silvia knew Ryan Reynolds was a Hollywood star but she didn’t know he was also an entrepreneur, so she was touched upon hearing how he first imitated previous practices in the business world, but finally realized that finding a new way to do business that worked for him changed everything. Silvia has always felt like she needs to break glass ceilings and pave her own way!
Since LUHV Food was chosen as the only caterer for the VIP Luncheon, all the VIPs ate vegan for the day! We are hoping that by eating our tasty vegan food, the VIPs will reach for vegan food in the future! After all, here at LUHV, we believe that we can change the world by cooking up vegan food that is good for people, the planet, and the animals! At the end of the luncheon, Gwyneth even told Daniel that she loved our chocolate cake! We can die now!
