The Power of LUHV

Hi,

My name is Sarah-Chen O’Connell Ogorek (but my friends call me “SC” for short). I have been doing branding, marketing, and social media for the LUHV team since 2018. One of the things I immediately noticed about LUHV Food is that it’s not like the big corporations that no longer care or feel. LUHV Food is the antithesis of that; it’s a small-scale, family-run, minority-owned company run on plant power and pure love.

When it came to creating the LUHV brand, I wanted to make sure that LUHV’s company values came across. We’re eager to cheer on our customers in their pursuit of healthy and happy living. No one does authentic customer engagement like LUHV. I repost all of our customers Instagram Stories that mention us, I follow back customers who engage with us. I like customers photos, and I comment things like “Give me that recipe!” or “Looking good!” or “Happy Birthday, Honey!”

As an individual, I strive to uplift the people that I encounter on a daily basis. However, sometimes it’s hard for me to fully execute. But, when I’m logged into the LUHV Food accounts, I’m able to transform myself into an effervescent, magical, and fabulous being. It’s like how people who are mascots for sports teams would never dance or be silly without the costume on, but putting that costume on allows them to transform.

Recently, LUHV launched BOX of LUHV, a vegan food subscription service. To promote it, we did our very first Instagram Contest Giveaway, asking our customers to like and comment a reason they want to #UnBoxTheLUHV. One customer, @Sarah_Ginger wrote:

LUHV Food has been a source of joy for me for years. When I have anyone visiting me in Philly, the first stop is LUHV Vegan Deli. If I’m going to a party, LUHV is my go-to for meats, cheeses, salmon, or tuna and they are always a crowd pleaser. The cherry on top is that LUHV Food has been following my Instagram account for a few years and is unfailingly one of my most loyal likers/commenters which always make me smile.

I was blown away hearing her comment. I knew that I enjoyed engaging with customers over social media, but it was my first time hearing that a customer noticed it and appreciated it. In this monumental year of 2020 amidst a global pandemic, turbulent politics, and a renewal into social justice, I think our customers need the LUHV brand more than ever.
